Florence Festival of Books

The Florence Festival of Books is an exciting celebration of reading featuring more than 70 authors and 10 publishers. This festive two-day event is held every September on the FEC flat floor. The book fair is free and open to the public, and a special ticketed guest author lecture is often part of the weekend.

Friday Activities: Learn from Renowned Authors

The festival of books begins on Friday afternoon with a panel discussion featuring renowned authors and publishers who focus on one writing or publishing topic. Friday evening features a well-known keynote speaker. Past notables have included Bob Welch, Jane Kirkpatrick, Amy Stewart, and Philip Margolin.

Saturday Activities: Hear the Stories Behind the Stories

On Saturday, the book fair fills the venue’s nearly 8000 square-foot flat floor with authors and publishers ready to meet and greet you and describe, sign, and sell books. It is a fantastic time to hear the stories behind the stories and pick up some excellent new reads. And if you are an aspiring author, a chance to pitch an idea or manuscript to a publisher.
